Principal (or Mr.) Durance walked into his office and sat down his briefcase. He opened it and took out the papers he would need for the first lesson of the term. He sat them down on his desk and then stowed away his briefcase under the desk. Today would be the first Supernatural Studies & Solutions class, in which he would explain to the pupils what the subject entailed and what they would cover through the process of the term. He started reading a letter from a parent and waited patiently for the Bell to ring and the students to arrive. The Bell Rung.

Edward with little much else to do made his way into the classroom where on his time table it said his first lesson was. Poking his head into the classroom he saw a teacher waiting at his desk. being anti-social as he was he found a desk to the back of the class room, where he sat down silently, and pulled out various needed items mainly his note pad, which had more so become a sketch pad. He begun to draw once again his emerald gaze fixated upon his book, as he drew doodles of swirls and designs, he too drew some notes on a line, which was his melody in the process. The bell a moment later rang.

Alex skidded to halt out side of the class, the bell had run minutes ago and he was late. "I'm sorry I'm late, I got...held up." he said as he found his place in the middle of the class. His neck held tell-tale signs that he had been held up - just not in a way you would openly admit in front of a teacher. He bit his lip and pulled out a notebook, that was falling apart, and a pen, that tended to run out mid sentence. The notebook held nothing but drawings and plans for his party, there was no work in sight. But he didn't care, as long as everyone thought he was concentrating he would be okay.

Edward Had casually brought his leg up, his foot resting on the same seat with his notbook, rested against his knee. He rasied his emerald green gaze over his notebook, and knee, to look towards the late arrival, he had never really spoken to Alex, but Edward was not stupid to know that Alex was Sky High's popular student, and everyone wished to know him or be like him, Edward on the other hand was niether, He didn't know Alex, he didn't want to be like Alex, Edward was content with himself, sure. If Alex talked to him he would respond, But Edward was fairly hapy in his own little world, with his slowly developing group. He turned his gaze back to his notebook and begun to doodle, before he knew it he had in fact spoken, His voice soft, and deep. "Your not Late technically, seeing as You and I are the current only students in the classroom."

Alex swung around to face the boy that had just spoken to him. It was Edward. That dude Faith was interested in - even thought she denied it. He scowled a little and leant back on his chair to sprawl over Edward's desk, "Maybe everyone else is just later than I was," he said flashing Edward a smile. Snatching the notebook out of Edward's hand he flipped through a few pages, "These are pretty good," he said flipping though a few more doodles and drawings and then eventually handing back the notebook.

Mr. Durance looked up as the two boys started talking, "There are a few people missing today, I have spoken to their respective teachers with whom they are serving detentions... there are a few pupils, however, correctly as you said, missing. If they don't turn up I'll need to give them both Detention for truancy... something I was prefer not to do, anyway... Mr. Cien please give Mr. Masen his, what appears to be, a notebook back..." he trailed off and went over to a closet and entered it, taking out two textbooks entitled Supernatural Studies, Logic & Common Queries, An Introduction which he gave to Alex and Edward.
"If you'll turn to page five, you'll see a basic outline introduction of this class. It involves discussing how certain abilities cannot be explained by Science and basic Logic and must be prone to more guesswork and study.. which some people, eh, don't like to do. I find the subject very intriguing, something I'd definitely, eh, advise you take and study when you reach next year and if you pursue a higher education that school. This term we're going to cover powers that can be explained and powers that cannot be explained by Science and what people think is the reasoning behind them. Do any of you have any guesses as to what powers can easily be explained by Science and Logic?" he asked, sitting on his desk as he did.

Alex retuned to facing the front, "Sir, don't some powers come from animals - like the ideas. Because, like, regeneration and stuff, like, tadpoles do it and newts do it. So why not humans? And, like, x-ray vision is just using ultrasound on a bigger scale...isn't it?" Alex leant back on his chair, at least he had made a bit of a contribution, hopefully he wouldn't have to do anything else.

"Regeneration is an interesting power. It can be explained, or so we think. Contrary to popular belief it takes quite a length of time, Alex, for reptiles to regrow limbs and heal wounds. In some cases it can take longer than the length of a human to heal. Scientests and the common word is that the cells move around extremely quickly and can reproduce themselves. The key is in the blood, the healing factor is all about the blood, that much is certain.. X-Ray vision would be something like that, it's commonly know that it cannot penetrate lead, so people assume that this is the reason. What about things that cannot be explained, any examples of them?" he asked, he thoughts he was making some progress with this class.

Faith stumbled in, her hair wilder than normal as she caught sight of the Principal whom she knew taught this class and dipped her head, "Im so sorry Im late," She whispered as she then resumed her pale which happened to be beside Edward, avoiding his gaze, she quickly got her books out with her pale, shaking hands and pushed her fringe back into position. Under her eyes were dark purple rings, obviously from lack of sleep and she was much more paler than normal, almost white. She caught sight of Alex but made nothing of it as she kept her eyes locked on the teacher, being a Sidekick, she needed to listen to any help that they were giving out.

"Miss Liquin," he began, "So happy you could join us. If you'll please take a seat and listen up, that would be excellent... try to be on time in future," he concluded. "Now anyway, to reiterate what I said, does anyone have any idea of any abilities that cannot be explained by Science?"

Edward sat there absently as his notebook was snatched from his hands, He didn't say anything yet took his book back when given, he turned to his usual page and resumed drawing only slightly paying attention he could still hear the conversation as he doodled, At that moment he heard Faith's name mentioned he glanced up a fraction and spotted he she had sat beside him, scrowling he etuned back to his note book, his foot still rested on his chair. When the question was asked Edward shrugged and replied "Astral projection?" He guessed glancing up then continued. "That is moe along the lines of logic, the mind projecting self images, the conscience..acting on it's own desired will?" he presumed to say the least.

“What an interesting example, Mr. Masen. Astral Projection can be explained to an extent ... Or so Scientests think. They believe it has to do with a mind being so powerful it can send what is seemingly a full person. It's been proved that Astral Projection, or A-PRO as it's known among Scientests, is not an active power. Most people that ‘possess’ the ability have little idea anything has happened. It's common for astral projection to be a dormant ability that only manifests when it itself is in control, for the smarter pupils we'll know that I mean when sleeping; the subconscious controls everything then... Another common thing to happen is when people faint. It could happen because do little attention is being paid that the mind wanders off - literally.. Also in the human world you'll hear of Near-Death Experiences - or NDEs - which if you go to page 173 in the textbook you will be able to read about,” he said. “Any ideas as to why the conscious mind wouldn't be able to ‘tap into’ it?” he asked the class as he picked up an extra textbook and sat if on Faith’s desk.

Marco walked into what would surely be an interesting class if the discussion he had heard so far was anything of usual. Instead of slipping into his seat remorsefully or offering a reason for his lateness he merely sent an alternate opinion to the teacher as he calmly plopped into a vacant chair on the second row and set his notebook and pen on the desktop. "Sir, is it not true that Astral Projection can be learned? Although it is believed to be a defense mechanism of the underbrain, or sub-conscious mind, is it not also something that can be tapped into and learned; if one studies cardinal positioning and deep meditation to connect with the primal core of the Medulla oblongata which controls autonomic functioning?"

He had studied the ability before in a Physics class as an anomoly of the brain, and yet as a potentially real thing. It was interesting to hear things supposed to be possible discussed as if they were possible. He was interested in this topic and thought he might learn something in this class, and he grinned.
